CHristina Oikonomidou

Christina Oikonomidou was born in 1965 in Athens, where she currently lives and works. She studied economics in Munich and Athens. She writes, translates, and edits literary and theoretical texts, while her articles, writings, and book reviews are regularly published in daily and periodical press. She is the editor-in-chief of the book program "Axion Esti" by Vassilis Vassilikos and directs the monthly free press magazine for books "Index" (where she co-authors, among other things, the pages titled "Showcase"). She also teaches creative writing at the Mikro Polytechneio. She has published poetry books, including "The Woman and the Tree of Silence/Myths and Pains" (Apopeira, 1994), "Gestures of Aesthetics" (Apopeira, 1997), and "Matthew and Shirley" (Apopeira, 2009). Her short stories are included in the collections "Molotov Cocktail" (Kochlias, 2003) and "Nani, the Flower of Flowers: Ode to the Mother" (Indiktos, 2005).
