
Anne Enright
Anne Enright was born in 1962 in Dublin. She studied English literature and philosophy at Trinity College Dublin and attended the renowned creative writing master's program at the University of East Anglia, under the guidance of authors Malcolm Bradbury and Angela Carter. She has published the short story collections "The Portable Virgin" (1991, Rooney Prize), "Taking Pictures" (2008), "Yesterday's Weather" (2009), and the novels "The Wig my Father Wore" (1995), "What Are You Like?" (2000, Encore Award), "The Pleasure of Eliza Lynch" (2002, Greek translation "Alma Perdita", Alexandria 2005), "The Gathering" (Man Booker Prize & Irish Novel of the Year, 2007, Greek translation "Η συγκέντρωση" Kastaniotis 2007), "The Forgotten Waltz" (2011, Greek translation "Το ξεχασμένο βαλς", Kastaniotis 2012), "The Green Road" (Irish Novel of the Year, 2015, Greek translation "Ο χορταριασμένος δρόμος", Kastaniotis 2015), as well as the essay "Making Babies: Stumbling into Motherhood" (2004). She is married to Martin Murphy, director of the Pavilion Theatre in Dún Laoghaire, Dublin, with whom she has two children. She lives and works in Bray, County Wicklow.
