
Spyros Tzias
Spyros Tzias was born in 1918 in the village of Sofratika in Dropolis, in the Argirokastro region. His father was a Greek teacher in various villages in the area, while his mother was a simple farmer. He completed primary school in his native Greek language and continued his studies at the Vellas Teaching Academy and later at the University of Athens (Faculty of Law). He actively participated in the national liberation struggle against the occupiers, and after the end of the war, he worked for a long period at the central publishing house of Albania. From this position, he contributed to the publication in the Albanian language of a series of works of ancient and modern Greek literature, also participating in this work himself. He wrote novels in both Greek and Albanian, including "Gypsy Love," "The Partisan Hospital," "Dropolis Chronicle," and others. He has also successfully engaged in journalism, which he continues to practice today.
