Misel Fais

Michel Fais (Komotini, 1957) is responsible for the book pages in the "Efimerida ton Syntakton" and teaches creative writing ("Scholi" at Patakis Publications & University of Western Macedonia). In 2000, he was awarded the State Short Story Prize. Prose: "Autobiography of a Book" (1994; revised edition Patakis, 2005), "From the Same Glass" (1999; revised edition Patakis, 2011), "Aegypius Monachus" (2001; revised edition Patakis, 2013), "The Honey and the Ashes of God" (2002), "Greek Insomnia" (2004), "Purple Laughs" (2010), "Grave Goods" (2012), "Out of Nowhere" (2015). The novel "Autobiography of a Book" has been translated into French and Romanian, and the short story collection "From the Same Glass and Other Stories" into French, Spanish, and English. His short stories have been included in Spanish, German, English, French, Czech, and Chinese anthologies and published in American magazines. Translation: "Haiku for the Rain, the Snow, the Wind, the Sun, the Moon" (with illustrations by Chronis Botsoglou, Bastas Plessas, 1994). Theater: "The Bench of No One" (Theater 104, 2014, dir. Pateraki), "The City on Its Knees" (Amore Theater - Trials, 2006, dir. Th. Anastasopoulos), "Couples" (Monologues of the Cultural Olympiad, Metaxourgeio Theater, 2003, dir. P. Choursoglou). Cinema: Collaborated with Nikos Panagiotopoulos on the screenplay of the films "Delivery" (Official Selection Venice and Montreal Festivals, 2004), "Athens-Istanbul" (2008), and "Rembrandt's Daughter" (2015). Photography: "Late Gaze," 1996 and "The City on Its Knees," 2002 (Albums and solo exhibitions at Art Space 24). Participated in Photosynkyria 2003 and took part in the following group photography-painting exhibitions: "Summer, a Meeting" (with Kostas Papanikolaou and Tasos Mantzavinos, Art Space 24, 2006), "Self-Portrait of Another" (with visual artist Tasos Mantzavinos, Art Space 24, 2007), "Grave Goods" (with Kalliopi Asargiotaki and Tasos Mantzavinos, Art Space 24, 2013). Editing: Engaged in the literary and artistic restoration of Giulio Kaimi (7 titles). He has edited many collective volumes of literature and art albums. Recently, he directs the following series: "The Kitchen of the Writer/Director/Historian/Architect" (a confessional series by personalities from literature, art, and public life - 9 volumes), "Hotel/Writing Residents" (nationwide thematic short story competition - 7 consecutive years, 7 volumes).
