THanasis Petrou

Thanasis Petrou was born in Thessaloniki in 1971. He studied French Philology and completed a postgraduate degree in Sociolinguistics. In 2002, he won first prize in the 2nd Comics Competition of the "9" supplement of the newspaper "Eleftherotypia" in the New Talents category. In 2005, he graduated from AKTO (Department of Sketch-Comics-Cartoons). Since 2004, he has been a permanent contributor to "9". His comics have been published in "9", "Galera", "Babel", and elsewhere. He has participated in numerous group comic exhibitions (Athens, Thessaloniki, Serbia, China, Sardinia, Poland). In 2008, his comic collection titled "The Drummer and His Friends" was published by "Bibliopelagos" editions. In 2011, "Pararlama and Other Stories by Demosthenes Voutyras" was released, with scripts by Dimitris Vanellis (published by "Topos"). Also in 2011, "The Corpse" was published, with a script by Tasos Zafeiriadis and Yiannis Palavos (published by "Jemma Press").
