Agelos M. Syrigos
Angelos Syrigos (born 1966) graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Athens in 1988. In 1994, he earned his doctorate from the Faculty of Law at the University of Bristol in England. He is an Associate Professor of International Law and Foreign Policy in the Department of International, European, and Regional Studies at Panteion University. He worked at the Research Centre for International Law at the University of Cambridge (1993-94), served as a scientific collaborator for the Council of Europe concerning Montenegro and Azerbaijan (1999-2002), and has been a fellow at the Institute of International Relations at Panteion University (1999 to present). His academic focus includes Greek-Turkish relations, the Cyprus issue, the Law of the Sea, minorities, and immigrants. In 1992, he was awarded by the Academy of Athens for his work on the delimitation of the continental shelf. Since 1999, he has been involved in Greek foreign policy in positions of responsibility.
