Terry Prachett

Terry Pratchett was born in 1948 in Buckinghamshire. He worked as a journalist until he became so successful with his novels that he dedicated himself exclusively to writing. He is considered a pioneer of humorous fantasy literature. His books have been translated into 27 languages and have sold millions of copies to both young and adult readers. His novel "The Amazing Maurice" was awarded the Carnegie Medal in 2002, and Pratchett was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1998.
