Anna Burns

Anna Burns was born in Belfast in 1962. In 1987, she settled permanently in London and in 2014 moved to Sussex. Her first novel, "No Bones" (2001, Greek edition "Αντίλαλοι: Σπασμοί πολέμου", Agra, 2005), which explores the coming-of-age of a young girl in Belfast during the Troubles, was awarded The Royal Society of Literature Winifred Holtby Memorial Prize and was shortlisted for the Orange Prize. This was followed by the novel "Little Constructions" (2007), the novella "Mostly Hero" (2014), and the novel "Milkman" (2018), which addresses the sexual harassment of an eighteen-year-old girl by a paramilitary figure and won the Man Booker Prize.
