Eleni Papagaroufali

Eleni Papagaroufali studied History and Archaeology at the University of Athens and Social Anthropology at Columbia University in New York. She teaches in the Department of Social Anthropology and History at the University of the Aegean as an Assistant Professor. Her published articles in journals and collective volumes focus on the women's movement in Greece, women's agritourism cooperatives in the Greek countryside, and more recently, the narratives modern Greeks tell about their relationship with biotechnology and genes. In recent years, her research has centered on the "twinning" of cities or communities and the "electronic twinning" of schools between Greece and other EU member countries.
