Eya Nikolaidou

Eva Nikolaidou was born in Thessaloniki in 1954. She studied at the College of Journalism in London and Sociology at the Mary Ward Center (Tutorial University). She continued her studies in Paris, where she completed the Culture Department at the Sorbonne. She attended an internship at the newspaper "Le Monde." In 1984, with a scholarship from the French Government, she completed the television department at the Centre de Formation des Journalistes. She studied Russian for three years at the Greek-Soviet Association and the Center for Southeast European Studies. She attended the Drama School of Athens as an auditor for three years. She began her journalism career with the magazine "Pantheon" as a correspondent from London and Paris. In 1979, she started collaborating with "Kyriakatiko Vima." She worked for the newspapers "Ethnos," "Kyriakatiki Eleftherotypia," "Apogevmatini," and "Proti," as well as the magazines "Tachydromos," "Gynaika," "Ena," and "Bazaar." She is a member of the Journalists' Union of the Athens Daily Newspapers and the International Federation of Journalists. Since 1979, she worked at ERT, from which she retired after a 40-year career. She started in radio with her own show, continued with "Chronicles of the Day" (Radio News Department), and shortly thereafter in Television News. From 1990 to 2013, she worked in the Directorate of International Television Programs. For 20 years, she was the editor-in-chief of the cultural program "9+1 Muses," which showcased the most significant cultural events in our country.
