Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Sri Sathya Sai Baba
Sri Sathya Sai Baba was born on November 23, 1926, in the village of Puttaparthi in Southern India and left his mortal body on April 24, 2011. He was the fourth child of a poor but virtuous and devout family. From a young age, he exhibited exceptional wisdom, compassion, tolerance, and a multitude of other virtues that he demonstrated daily. At the age of 14, while still a high school student, he cast aside his school bag and announced that his mission was the spiritual regeneration of humanity. He dedicated his entire life to this mission, teaching and practicing what he preached. "My life is my message," he would say. His social work is immense. The establishment and operation of modern hospitals where all services are provided free of charge, guided by his saying "service to man is service to God," the Educare educational system he inaugurated, based on Human Values, as well as the educational institutions he founded—from primary to tertiary education—where attendance is provided free of charge, the provision of water to arid, remote areas, also free of charge, and many other acts of love and wisdom he performed, serve as undeniable testimonies of his divine teachings and sources of inspiration for all humanity. Thousands of books have been written in all languages, in all countries, in an effort to convey "Who Sai Baba is." In a speech in 1965, he said: "No Avatar has acted in this way in the past, going to villages, seeking out the afflicted, awakening and mobilizing the lethargic, abundantly distributing His Grace to millions of people, advising, comforting, guiding, uplifting them to follow the path of Truth, Dharma, Peace, and Love. I am neither a Guru nor God. I am You and You are Me! This is the Truth, and you will realize it when you reach the Goal."
