Leyteris Papaleontiou

Lefteris Papaleontiou studied Modern Greek Literature at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1980-1984), where he also pursued postgraduate studies (MA 1989, PhD 1994). Since 1994, he has been teaching at the Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies at the University of Cyprus. He has published the books: "Cypriot Literature in the Press" (1993), "The Early Steps of Cypriot Literary Criticism 1880-1930" (1997), "Literary Translations of the Greater Hellenism: Asia Minor - Cyprus - Egypt 1880-1930" (1998). He has edited the prose works of M. Roussia, N. Vrahimi, and E. Fragoudis. He is also a co-editor of the journal "Microphilologica" (since 1997).
