Jimmy Massey

Jimmy Massey was born and raised in North Carolina, experiencing considerable hardships, with only his mother. He enlisted in the Marines in 1992 and became a Corps recruiter in 1999. In the meantime, he got married and had a son, but his marriage ended in divorce. In 2003, he was deployed to Iraq with a combat unit, from which he returned to the USA ill. In his testimony, which he wrote with the assistance of N. Saulnier, he describes the experiences and events of his twelve-year service in the Marine Corps and the traumas of his brief service in Operation "Iraqi Freedom."
