
Nikos Kytopoulos
Nikos Kytopoulos was born in 1915 in Sukhumi, Abkhazia (Colchis). He grew up in Melia, Alexandroupolis. He participated in the National Resistance, for which he was persecuted, imprisoned, and dismissed from his position as an educator. He took part in the Democratic Army of Greece and experienced all the dramatic events of the Civil War. He spent decades in forced exile and was repatriated in 1976. His literary work reflects his era.
