Spyridon Ploumidis
Spyridon G. Ploumidis was born in Ioannina in 1974. In 1996, he graduated from the Department of History at the Ionian University. In 2000, he received a Master's degree from the School of Slavonic and East European Studies. In 2004, he was awarded a Ph.D. from the Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies at King's College, University of London. In 2009, he was appointed Lecturer in Modern and Contemporary History at the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Athens. Since March 2015, he has been serving as an Assistant Professor of Modern and Contemporary Greek History at the Department of History and Archaeology, School of Philosophy, University of Athens. He has published articles in scientific journals and participated in international conferences. His research interests focus on Greek-Bulgarian relations and the historical sociology of Greek nationalism.
