Dimitris Plantzos

Dimitris Plantzos is a classical archaeologist, a graduate of the University of Athens, and holds a doctorate from the University of Oxford. He has published books and studies on ancient Greek art, the history and methodology of classical archaeology, as well as the reception of classical culture in modern thought. He taught classical archaeology in the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Ioannina. Since 2009, he has co-directed the university excavation at Argos Orestiko Kastoria, and since 2013, he has been teaching classical archaeology in the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Athens.
