Grigoris Chaliakopoulos was born in Filiatra, Messinia, and is an author and journalist. He was admitted to the School of Statistics at A.V.S.P., which he left early. He attended courses in Theoretical Graphology [Characterology] at the workshops of Dimitrios Kottakis. In the past, he worked in the banking sector and was a trade unionist in the autonomous and independent trade union movement. He served as General Secretary and Vice President of the employees at the then Credit Bank and was a member of the administration of OTOE. He resigned in 1997 and permanently left trade unionism due to his disagreement with the politicization and opportunistic policies of the movement. During the years 1994-1995, he published the newspaper "Sense of Word and Art," the first free press, through which prominent figures in Science, Letters, and Arts were featured. With the newspaper's campaign "Send a Book to the Cell," the prisons of Korydallos, Men, and Women were enriched with 2,500 books. He collaborated journalistically with newspapers such as "Kathimerini of Sunday," "Niki," "Investor of Saturday," "Real News," "Eleftheria Kalamata," "Ethnos," and magazines like "Tachydromos," "Epeidi," "Homme," "Panorama," "Momento," "Paper," and "Eikones" with interviews and reports on research, culture, society, and politics. In 1997, he published in the press the Archives of Dromokaiteio, from the pre- and post-occupation period, about the great people who lived in the Psychiatric Hospital, such as Georgios Vizyinos, Romos Filiras, Gerasimos Vokos, Nikolaos Dragoumis, Kampanis, Ilves, Krystallis, and many others. He continued for a decade to research all the interesting personalities and the history of Dromokaiteio, which he presented in print and radio. His work has been presented at the Goulandris-Horn Foundation, the Gennadius Library, the Municipality of Athens, the Numismatic Museum, the Psycharis Gallery, the Museum of the City of Athens, the Foundation of Thracian Art and Tradition, the Harokopio University, the Ankyra Cultural Center, the Center for the Study of Modern Greek Literature, the Adamantios Korais Library, Ianos, the American College, Metropolis, the Old Parliament of Greece, and elsewhere, both in Athens and the regions. His fairy tale, "The Tear of Moutzouris," was presented by the Municipality of Kyparissia and the Hellenic Railways for the 100th anniversary of their founding and was selected by the Ministry of Education for the list of children's books for Primary Schools. His fairy tale "The Journey of Fereydoun" won second place in the Panhellenic Competition of "Anagnostis" and was nominated for the Greek State Award in 2013. He visited many schools across the country, private, public, Roma, immigrant refugees, minority, special needs, always with the permission of the Ministry of Education, speaking about diversity and engaging in face-to-face conversations with more than 40,000 students. His fairy tale "The Secret of Belisarius," referencing the great Greek painter of Naples in the 16th century, took 3rd place in the Panhellenic Competition of Anagnostis 2016. Among his literary works is the editing of books by great poets, such as Anthimos Miaoulis, of whom he is the biographer, from Kastaniotis Editions, and he has prefaced the Album "As You Set Out for Ithaca..." by the fighter engraver Giorgos Farsakidis. First published in 2009 in the daily press, featuring the unpublished adolescent poetry of Kostis Palamas to Isabella Anninou, as well as unpublished letters by Kazantzakis and Elytis. In 2011, he published the unpublished poetry of Gerasimos Markoras and a large portion of his letters. He has created verse adaptations of theatrical plays, and his works have been staged in theaters. Since 2017, he has been the Artistic Director of the Knossos Theater. During 2012-2013, he co-hosted the radio show "902 Performances" with composer Filippos Peristeris every Wednesday on "902 Left on FM," showcasing the best theatrical performances alongside their creators. Subsequently, through their show "Backstage to the Forefront," they supported the "Ertopen" movement from the studio of the dismissed ERT employees, highlighting the theatrical successes of the time. The same show continued on www.metadeftero.gr, the online radio of 80 music producers, as well as his book-themed show "Pages of Utopia." Since 2017, he has been a radio producer at the "Orange Radio" of Solidarity. He collaborates with social solidarity centers and continues to write articles for newspapers, magazines, and electronic media on topics related to society and humanity.
