Thanasis Frontistis was born in Molos, Fthiotida. He studied at the Athens University of Economics and Business and completed his MBA and part of his doctoral studies (Ph.D.) in Business Administration at the University of New York. He holds a Doctorate in Economic Sciences. He is the President of the two corporations he founded (EMI Educational S.A. and EMI Consulting S.A.), Vice President and Member of the Executive Committee of the Hellenic-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and editor-in-chief of an economic magazine. Over his 40-year career as a senior executive in well-known international companies, he also served as President of the Export Promotion Organization and Deputy President of OTE. He has taught at renowned universities in the USA, Europe, and Greece. He has been or is a member of the management of many European and Greek scientific, professional, and social organizations, including the EU Export Promotion Group, the European Council of Small and Medium Enterprises (Vice President), the Consumer Protection Institute (INKA-Vice President), the National Agricultural Research Foundation, the Association of Vocational Training Companies (President), the Arab-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce (Vice President), among others. For many years, he was a Consultant-Expert for the International Trade Center of the UN/WTO. He has published two books and over seventy articles and studies in Greek and foreign magazines and newspapers. For the past 30 years, he has been involved in journalism and literature. He writes poetry and theater. His poems have been published in literary magazines and newspapers and included in anthologies. He is a member of the Society of Greek Writers. He speaks English and French. He is married to Nelli Michail, and they have three daughters.
