Kostas Katsapis
Kostas Katsapis was born in Athens in 1973. He studied History at the Ionian University, where he also completed postgraduate studies in History and Documentation. In 2006, he defended his doctoral dissertation at the Department of Political Science and History at Panteion University, focusing on the social history of rock and roll in post-war Greece. He has worked as a historian at the Historical Archive of the Agricultural Bank (1997 - 1998), the Foundation of the Hellenic World (2000 - 2002), and the History Department of the Ionian University (2002 - 2012). Since 2012, he has been a member of the faculty at the Department of Political Science and History at Panteion University. He has collaborated with the National Hellenic Research Foundation as part of the "Historical Archive of Greek Youth" program. Since 2006, he has been teaching European Culture at the Hellenic Open University and Youth History at the postgraduate level at the Ionian University. His research interests lie in the field of contemporary social and cultural history, particularly the history of youth and social movements. He has published articles on these topics in collective volumes and scientific journals. Additionally, he is the author of the book "Sounds and Echoes: The Social History of the Rock and Roll Phenomenon in Greece, 1956-1967," published by the Historical Archive of Greek Youth, General Secretariat for Youth/ NHRF/INE, Athens 2007, and the monograph "The 'Youth Problem': Modern Youth, Tradition, and Dissent in Post-War Greece, 1964 - 1974," published by Aprovliptes Editions, Athens 2012. His writings on books and authors he admires have been published in the newspaper "Ta Nea" (Book Review supplement), and he was the curator of the Pavilion on Popularity and Labor Mobilizations at the major exhibition GR80s: Greece of the '80s at Technopolis (January-March 2016).
