Laurence Rees is a screenwriter and producer of numerous BBC documentaries focusing on modern history, particularly World War II. His work has earned him several awards, including the "International Documentary Association Award" and the "British Academy Award." He has published five books, three of which are based on material gathered during the filming of the documentaries. According to The Times, Laurence Rees is "the greatest producer of historical documentaries in Britain."
