Emir Kusturica

Emir Kusturica was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia, in 1954. His life is like his films: intense, rich, provocative, far from politically correct, with music ever-present. In his book "Where Am I in This Story?", his only work, both an autobiography and a manifesto, first published in French in 2011 (Greek edition by Patakis Publishers, 2012), behind the subversive image of his personality and films, he is revealed as a deeply human creator, wholeheartedly supporting the tumultuous history of his homeland. With the films "When Father Was Away on Business" (1985) and "Underground" (1995), he belongs to the very exclusive circle of directors who have been awarded the Palme d'Or twice at the Cannes Film Festival. With "Time of the Gypsies" (1988) and "Arizona Dream" (1993), he captivated audiences worldwide.
