Max Hastings

Sir Max Hastings was born in 1945. He is a journalist and author, regarded as one of the leading English historians. He worked as a foreign correspondent for the Evening Standard and Daily Telegraph newspapers, as well as for BBC television, in over sixty countries and eleven wars. Additionally, he has presented historical documentaries for BBC television and has received numerous awards for his journalistic work. He has written twenty historical books, one of which was honored with the Somerset Maugham Award and two others with the Yorkshire Post Book of the Year Prize. In 2002, he was knighted by the Queen of England. Today, he has his own column in the Daily Mail newspaper. He lives in Berkshire with his wife and two children.
