Jean de La Fontaine

Jean De La Fontaine was born in Chateau-Thierry in 1621 and died in Paris in 1695. A writer, playwright, librettist, and novelist, he became renowned primarily for his "Fables," which are adaptations of Aesop's "Fables." Other works include "Saul," "Meditations Poétiques," "Jocelyn," "Le Lac," "L'Isolement," and "Recueillements."
