Demi Stavropoulou was born in Athens. She is a physiotherapist specializing in Neurodevelopmental Treatment, a member of the Panhellenic Association of Physiotherapists, the Scientific Society of Physiotherapy, the Society for the Protection of Spastics, and a former Secretary of the Child Department of the Hellenic Scientific Society of Physiotherapy. She has taught at the Higher School of Physiotherapy and worked as a program director and scientific advisor at Rehabilitation Centers for Children with cerebral palsy. She writes articles and gives lectures aiming to raise societal awareness on the issue of disability. In 1999, she was honored by the Panhellenic Association of Physiotherapists for her contribution "to the advancement of the science of Physiotherapy." Her book "On the Glass Floor of Pain - I Met the Face," published by Akritas (3rd edition, 2003), served as the basis for the screenplay of the film on motor disability titled "Let's Go Together," produced by the Educational Radio-Television of the Ministry of National Education and Religious Affairs in 2005.
