John Boyne

John Boyne was born in Dublin in 1971. He studied literature at Trinity College in Dublin and attended creative writing workshops at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, where he later taught. He lives in Dublin. He has written seven novels for adults, while his first children's book, "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas," became an international publishing phenomenon, having been translated into 42 languages, staying on bestseller lists for two years, and selling over five million copies worldwide. It was also adapted into a major motion picture. His book "Noah Barleywater Runs Away" has been translated into 24 languages and was nominated for numerous awards, "The Terrible Thing That Happened to Barnaby Brocket" is available in 29 countries and was nominated for various awards, while "Stay Where You Are and Then Leave" was nominated for the Irish Children's Book of the Year Award.
