
Simon Critchley
Simon Critchley was born in 1960 in Hertfordshire, England. He studied philosophy at the University of Essex (BA, PhD) and the University of Nice, France (MPhil). Currently, he is a professor of philosophy at the New School University in New York (formerly New School for Social Research) and a programme director at the College International de Philosophie in Paris. He regularly contributes to newspapers such as the "Guardian," "Independent," "New York Times," and "London Review of Books." Along with Tom McCarthy, he is a member of the "International Necronautical Society - INS," which explores (philosophical) death, Greek philosophy, and the significance of authenticity and inauthenticity, participating in contemporary art events such as those at the Tate Modern or the 2nd Athens Biennale 2009 titled "Heaven."
