Andreas Vasilopoulos

Andreas Vassilopoulos, a regular researcher at ISTA (University of Franche-Comté), serves as the National Representative in European Actions 634 and A27. He has taught geoinformatics as an adjunct professor at the University of Athens and has been the Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the "Geocultural Park of the Eastern Aegean" since 2001. An honors Ph.D. graduate in Geology (University of Athens) and Geoarchaeology (University of Franche-Comté), he was a scholar of the Academy of Athens and the State Scholarships Foundation and holds four patents. As a geologist, he has participated in numerous geotechnical and environmental studies. As a geoinformatics expert, he has coordinated the installation of Integrated Geographic Information Systems in over 50 public agencies in Greece and 2 in France. He is the coordinator of five major European programs, the editor of a monthly newspaper ("Academic Discourse"), and the author of three university textbooks, one monograph, and over 90 publications in international journals and conferences.
