Sofia Iakovidou

Sophia Iakovidou is a Lecturer in Modern Greek Literature at the Democritus University of Thrace. She studied Modern Greek Philology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and continued her studies in Literature and Literary Theory in Paris and Birmingham. Her articles have been published in literary journals (Nea Estia, MOSCHOVIA, Diavazo, Dia-keimena, among others) and in collective volumes. Her research interests focus on 19th and primarily 20th-century Modern Greek literature, comparative approaches to it, as well as literary theory with an emphasis on the utilization of new tools. She has taught at the University of Ioannina, the University of Western Macedonia, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and the Hellenic Open University.
