Emmanouil K. Doundoulakis

Emmanuel Doundoulakis was born in Heraklion, Crete, in 1975. On December 2, 2008, he was appointed Assistant Professor at the Higher Ecclesiastical Academy of Heraklion, Crete, specializing in Hagiology and Hymnology. He holds a Ph.D. (with distinction) from the Department of Theology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2006). His postgraduate studies (with distinction) were completed at the Department of Theology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1998-2001) and at universities in Switzerland (2002-2003). He graduated (with distinction, first in his class) from the Department of Theology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1996-1998) and from the Higher Ecclesiastical School of Crete (1992-1995). He also holds a Diploma (with distinction) in Greek Paleography from the Center for Hagiological Studies of the Holy Monastery of Saint Theodora (2000) and a Diploma in Management - Marketing (2000). He is proficient in English, French, and Italian, with basic knowledge of German. Since 2006, he has been teaching at the Higher Ecclesiastical Academy of Heraklion, Crete, focusing on Hagiology, Hymnology, and Festology. He is a member of the Panhellenic Union of Writers, the Interdisciplinary Group for Theological and Philosophical Research, the Pancretan Union of Writers, the Panhellenic Union of Theologians, and the Pancretan Theological Association, among others. In 2010, by decision of the Holy Provincial Synod of the Church of Crete, he was appointed Secretary of the Synodal Committee "on Heresies and Parareligion." His thirteen books are of theological and literary (poetry) interest.
