
Giorgos Skampardonis
Born in Thessaloniki in 1953, the author studied French Philology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He worked in newspapers, radio, and television, wrote scripts for TV documentaries, and co-wrote the screenplay for Pantelis Voulgaris' film "Everything is Road." He directed the newspaper "Thessaloniki" and the magazines "Th-97" (Ipekci Award), "Tamarix," and "A Thousand Trees." He served as the director of the artistic magazine "Panselinos" of "Sunday Macedonia," which was honored with the European Newspaper Design Awards 2000. His short story collection "The Alley of Fabrics" received the State Short Story Award in 1993. He collaborated for two years with "Sunday Eleftherotypia." In 2010, he was awarded the Botsis Foundation Prize, and in 2012, he received the Academy of Athens' "Petros Haris" award for his book "Patrolling While Busy with Many Things" (Patakis Publishers).
