Giorgos I. Petropoulos

George Petropoulos was born in Athens in 1952. He studied public administration and political science at Panteion University and attended a postgraduate seminar in administrative law at the same institution. He is an employee of the National Bank of Greece. He collaborates with numerous magazines in Greece and abroad, as well as with daily newspapers in Athens and Cyprus. He is a member of the Society of Greek Writers, the National Society of Greek Writers of Cyprus, the Estia of Nea Smyrni, the Group of Fthiotida Writers-Literary Authors, the Organization for the Internationalization of the Greek Language, the Greek Language Heritage, and the Philological Association "Parnassos." He has participated in many poetry collections. Additionally, his poems and essays have been translated into English, French, Italian, Russian, Polish, Serbian, and Albanian. His work has received favorable reviews from university professors both domestically and internationally, as well as from prominent literary figures. In 2006, he was honored with the State Prize for Literature of Poland.
