Donald John Trump was born in 1946 in Queens, New York. Alongside his studies at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, he worked at his father Fred Trump's real estate company, officially joining it in 1968. He is the president of The Trump Organization and the founder of the hotel-casino chain Trump Entertainment Resorts. Additionally, from 2004 to 2015, he hosted the NBC reality TV show The Apprentice. He was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013 in the business wing. A prolific author, Donald J. Trump has written more than fifteen bestselling books, with his first work, "The Art of the Deal," considered a classic in the business book category and one of the most successful of its kind over time. More than eight million people follow Donald J. Trump on social media. On June 16, 2015, Donald J. Trump officially announced his candidacy for the presidency of the United States in the 2016 elections, seeking the Republican Party's nomination. In the election on November 8, 2016, he was elected as the 45th president of the United States of America. He ultimately secured 304 electoral votes, ensuring a comfortable victory, while his opponent, Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton, received 227 electoral votes. On January 20, 2017, he officially assumed his presidential duties.
