Giorgos Stamatis

George Stamatis served as a Professor of Economic Theory at Panteion University, where he taught from 1979 to 2008. He studied Economics and Political Science at the University of Kiel and holds a doctorate from the University of Bremen. In the 1970s, he taught at the Universities of Göttingen, Bremen, and Kassel. He is internationally renowned for his work in neoclassical, Keynesian, neo-Ricardian, and Marxist economic theory, as well as in the theory of linear production systems. He was the editor of the journals "Hefte für Politische Ökonomie," "Teuchi Politikis Oikonomias," and the bilingual (Greek and English) "Political Economy." He has published more than twenty books (in Greek and German) and around one hundred articles in international and Greek scientific economic journals. Additionally, he has edited numerous collective volumes and translated Marx into Greek.
