Thomas E. Ricks is a senior correspondent for the "Washington Post" at the Pentagon, where he has been covering the United States Armed Forces since 2000. He previously held the same position at the "Wall Street Journal" until the end of 1999, where he worked for 17 years. Twice honored with the Pulitzer Prize for his contributions to reports of international interest, he has covered the presence of American troops in Somalia, Haiti, Korea, Bosnia, Kosovo, Kuwait, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Iraq. He is the author of the books "Making the Corps" and "A Soldier's Duty." In 2006, his book "Fiasco" was released to critical acclaim and achieved significant commercial success.
