THeodoros Giovazolias
Akis Giovazolias was born and raised in Athens. He studied psychology at the University of Crete. He continued his studies in the UK, where he obtained a master's degree in Counselling Psychology from Manchester Metropolitan University and a doctoral degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Surrey. He worked as a trainee psychologist in various structures of the British Health System. Since 2002, he has been teaching at the Department of Psychology at the University of Crete, where he was elected to the rank of Lecturer in 2005. His research interests focus on the study of school bullying, emphasizing the causal factors of its manifestation and maintenance, with the aim of developing effective holistic interventions. He is a member of Greek and British scientific and professional societies and a Chartered Counselling Psychologist of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
