Agapi Molyviati - Venezi

Agapi Molyviati - Venezi
Agapi Molyviati-Venezi was born in Ayvalik in 1900 (Kydonies of Asia Minor) and passed away in Athens in 1995. She was one of the five daughters of Michail and Vasiliki Mellou-Venezi. Immediately after the Asia Minor Catastrophe (September 1922), the Venezi family sought refuge in Mytilene. Married to Georgios Molyviatis from Kydonies, Agapi Molyviati-Venezi had two sons, Petros—who later became the Minister of Foreign Affairs—and Antonis. Alongside her family life, she continued her illustrious career as a poet and writer. In 1976, she published her first poetry collection, "The Face of Life," and two years later, in 1978, she released "Sonnets," which received outstanding reviews from leading poets and writers of the time. In 1981, she published "The Chronicle of Ten Days," which won the First Peace and Friendship Award Abdi Ipekci and the First Award of the Estia of Nea Smyrni. It was reissued in 1986.
