
Reviel Netz
Reviel Netz was born in 1968 in Tel Aviv. He is a Professor of Greek Mathematics and Astronomy at Stanford University and a distinguished scholar of Archimedes' work. He has published numerous articles and books, many of which have raised new questions and initiated new methodological approaches in the study of the History of Science. He is also a poet. Among his works, notable titles include "The Transformation of Mathematics in the Early Mediterranean World" (Cambridge University Press, 2004), "Ludic Proof" (Cambridge University Press, 2009), as well as the new English translation of Archimedes' works "The Works of Archimedes: Translation and Commentary. Volume I: The Two Books On the Sphere and the Cylinder" (Cambridge University Press, 2004) and "Volume II: On Spirals" (Cambridge University Press, 2017).
