Stathis Stayropoulos

Stathis (Stathis Dionysiou Stavropoulos) was born in 1955 in Pyrgos, Ilia. He studied political science and film directing. He worked as a cartoonist for the newspapers "Rizospastis," "Ta Nea," and "Eleftherotypia," where you can still find him today in his daily column "Nautilus," as well as in cartoons. He collaborates with magazines such as "Metro," "4 Wheels," "Metochos," "Nemesis," "Alpha," and others. He illustrates books, creates posters, comics, animations, and advertisements. He has designed posters on social issues such as drugs, labor, and the arts, in collaboration with unions, foundations, and artistic groups. He has participated in many group exhibitions and has been awarded international and national prizes. He has also held numerous solo exhibitions in the provinces and in Athens, at the "Astrolavos" and "Agathi" galleries. He has published 22 albums of cartoons, three with sketches without words, one with single-page political comics, one with stories from the ancient Olympic Games, and one with illustrated songs.
