Vasos I. Vogiatzoglou

Vasos Ilias Vogiatzoglou was born in 1935 in Nea Ionia, Attica. He hails from Sparta in Asia Minor. He is a pediatrician and an active member of the humanitarian organization "Doctors of the World." On a voluntary basis, he provides pediatric care to children in the Women's Prisons of Korydallos and Thebes. As a researcher of the history and folk culture of the Greeks of Asia Minor, a poet, onomatologist, and essayist, he particularly focuses on philosophical essays. He has published thirty-seven books and has collaborated with many newspapers and magazines in Greece and Cyprus. Since 2006, he has been directing the School of Philosophical and Social Research "Kyklos" in his hometown. For his literary and humanitarian work, he has been honored with numerous awards and distinctions, including recognition for his contribution to the study of Asia Minor Hellenism in 1986 by the Academy of Athens. He is a regular member of the National Society of Greek Writers, the Hellenic Onomatology Society, the Society of Physician Writers, and the Hellenic Society of Christian Letters.
