Katerina Tzavara

Katerina Tzavara was born and raised in Thessaloniki. She graduated from the American College "Anatolia," where she was a member of the choir and the school's literary group for many years. She holds a degree with honors from the Department of Early Childhood Education at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.) and completed further training in General Education at the A.U.Th. Teacher Training School. She studied piano, vocal performance, and obtained certification to teach English. In private education, she worked as a kindergarten teacher and theater play facilitator in schools and art workshops, as well as in early childhood education centers, teaching piano, theater education, and English. As an educator, she trained in and taught the Montessori method, for which she received an honorary diploma in 2009. In public education, she worked in regional kindergartens and as administrative staff in the offices of the Public Vocational Training Institutes (DIIEK) in Thessaloniki, where she trained in public management for public administration executives. In 2005, she took on the coordination and supervision of the Career Development and Alumni Offices of the DIIEK in Thessaloniki. From 2007 to 2010, she worked as a seconded kindergarten teacher, responsible for the practical training of students at the Department of Early Childhood Education at A.U.Th., where she first presented her own method for organizing and conducting school theatrical performances. Today, she works at the 10th all-day kindergarten in Neapoli and is concurrently pursuing a master's degree in "Physical Activity and Quality of Life" at the School of Physical Education and Sport Science at A.U.Th. She is an active member of OMEP (World Organization) and several cultural organizations in the city. Her research interests focus on preschool education in the fields of Aesthetic and Physical Education in kindergarten. Since 2007, she has been involved in writing educational books for preschool and early primary school ages.
