
Mimis Souliotis
Mimis Souliotis (1949 - 2012) studied philology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Thessaloniki, pursued postgraduate studies in Byzantine philology in Budapest, and completed his doctorate at the University of Ioannina. He was an associate professor at the Department of Preschool Education of the Pedagogical School of Florina, University of Western Macedonia, and was in charge of its library. Additionally, he founded the "Balkan Asylum of Poetry" in Prespes. He published the poetry collections: "Svoura," Tram, 1972, "Poems in Passing," Tram, 1974, "Deep Surface," Kedros, 1992, "Vain Eggs," Ermis, 1998, "On Poetics," Ermis, 1999, "Liquids," Ermis, 2000, "Sun in Scotland," Ermis, 2001, "Old Ages," Ermis, 2002, "Cyprus, Indeed," Metaichmio, 2011. He was responsible for the "Anthologist Ermis" series of Ermis publications, a founding member of the Union of Writers of Western Macedonia, and a member of the Society of Writers. He passed away in November 2012, after a six-month battle with cancer.
