Tim Wu

American, professor at Columbia University, former president of the Free Press group for media reform, and columnist for Slate Magazine. He is known for his studies on "net neutrality" and his significant contributions to wireless communication policy. Since 2011, he has served as an advisor to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on consumer protection issues, competition among Internet companies, and the mobile phone market. He writes for The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Wall St. Journal, among others. In 2006, he was named one of the top fifty in science and technology by "Scientific American" magazine, and in 2007, "01238" magazine included him in the list of the 100 most important alumni of Harvard University. His books "The Master Switch: The Rise and Fall of Information Empires" (2010) and "Who Controls the Internet? Illusions of a Borderless World" (Goldsmith, Jack L. & Tim Wu, 2006) have been translated into Greek.
