Konstantinos G. Karras

Konstantinos G. Karras is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Primary Education at the University of Crete. His academic and research interests focus on Comparative Education, Educational Policies concerning Teachers, Teacher Education in Europe - Systems of Teacher Training and Professional Development, the Teaching Profession, European Educational Programs, and Educational Reforms in Europe. His research and writing are centered on these interests, in addition to his Master's thesis and doctoral dissertation, which address Teacher Education in Europe and the Social Representations of European Teachers about their profession. He has published a monograph titled "Issues of Educational Policy in Crete at the Beginning of the 20th Century. An Essay of Reflection within the Historical-Comparative Paradigm," Athens, Atrapos Editions, 2007. He has also published studies and articles (in Greek, English, and Russian) in reputable Greek and international journals as well as in collective volumes. He has participated in numerous international conferences in Greece and abroad and has been involved in European Research Programs, such as "Education of Expatriates," the Socrates Program, and "Integration of Roma Children into School."
