Nikos Michalopoulos

Nikos Michalopoulos was born and raised in Athens. He is an educator, appointed by the Ministry of Education to OAKA and Near East for their educational programs aimed at schools. In sports, he has distinguished himself as a 13-time Greek Masters Javelin Champion, 8-time Balkan Champion, and is also a gold medalist at the European Masters Games held in Turin in 2019. As an author, he has published 15 books for children and adults, and has been honored with the European OIKOPOLIS Award and the SEGAS Distinction. Some of his works have been translated into English and are available in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and the United States. In December 2010, he placed the Greek flag at 6,000 meters on the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, as part of a global mission by the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation. This mission raised funds that enabled 1,500 children without parents and born with AIDS, living in extreme violence in Nairobi, to receive sports scholarships for Europe and America. His visits to Greek schools, both in Greece and abroad, have exceeded 700, and he has delivered thousands of public speeches, inspiring children, parents, and educators.
