Antonis K. Petrides (1975) has been an Associate Professor at the Open University of Cyprus (OUC) since 2017. He has also taught in private secondary education at the American International School in Cyprus for four years. He studied Greek Philology, specializing in Classical Philology, at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1995-99) and Classics at Trinity College, University of Cambridge (MPhil and PhD: 2000-2005). During his undergraduate studies, he was a scholar of the State Scholarships Foundation of Greece. For his postgraduate and doctoral dissertations, he received scholarships from the State Scholarships Foundation of Greece, the A. G. Leventis Foundation, the British Academy, and Trinity College. His research interests lie in the field of ancient Greek and Roman theater and its contemporary reception, Hellenistic literature (particularly Comic literature: mime, parodists, silliographers, etc.), ancient Greek physiognomics, the teaching of ancient Greek literature in secondary education, and open and distance adult education. He has published monographs, edited volumes, and papers in reputable international journals and collective volumes.
