
Kostas Katsoularis
Kostas Katsoularis was born in Arta in 1968. He studied economics in Athens, film in Paris, and literature in Thessaloniki. He has published eight prose books and contributed short stories to collective editions. His short story was included in the German anthology "Athens, a Literary Invitation," his novella "The Man Who Loved My Wife" has been translated into Turkish, and his novella "Dead Dog at Midnight" has been translated into English, Spanish, and Hebrew. His play "When the Wolf is Here" was staged in Athens, Thessaloniki, and at festivals in Turkey. His short story collection "Night Current" (2015) was awarded the short story prize by the magazine "Anagnostis" as well as the Petros Haris Foundation Award from the Academy of Athens. His latest book is the novel "A Bronze Heart in the Chest" (Metaichmio, 2018). He has worked as a book critic for the newspapers "To Vima"/"Books" and "Eleftheros Typos" (as editor of the 1455 supplement), as well as for the magazine "Diavazo." In June 2009, he founded the monthly free press newspaper for books, "Book Press," which has been published online since fall 2010 [www.bookpress.gr]. Between 2010-2013, he worked as the coordinator of the ESPA program "Innovative Actions to Enhance Students' Reading" at the National Book Centre of Greece (EKEBI). He is a member of the Society of Authors and served as secretary of its board from 2009 to 2011.
