Anna Iordanidou

Anna Iordanidou was born in Athens in 1954. She holds a degree from the School of Philosophy at the University of Athens and a Ph.D. in Linguistics from Paris VII University in France. Since 1990, she has been teaching Modern Greek Language at the Department of Primary Education at the University of Patras as a specialist scientist. In 1992, she was appointed as an assistant professor in the same department, became an associate professor in 2000, and a full professor in 2009. She is responsible for the linguistic design of electronic tools for spell checking, hyphenation, and thesaurus of synonyms-antonyms for Modern Greek, in collaboration with the IT companies Neurosoft and Neurolingo. She was the scientific director of the sub-project "Creation of a Dictionary for Teenagers" under the Education of Muslim Children program from 2002 to 2007 (Ministry of Education and National and Kapodistrian University of Athens).
