Georgios Mpampiniotis

George Babiniotis was born in 1939 in Athens. A graduate of the 9th Boys' Gymnasium of Athens, he studied philology at the University of Athens, where he received his degree in 1962. He continued his studies in Greece and abroad, and in less than 10 years, he became a professor at the University of Athens. He has served in various positions within the Department of Philology and was elected Rector of the University in 2000, a position he holds to this day. George Babiniotis has a broad scientific career and rich activities, with numerous collaborations. Among other roles, he is the President of the Arsakeia-Tositseia Schools Educational Society, President of the Linguistic Society of Athens, a regular contributor to the newspaper "To Vima," and a scientific editor for television programs on State Television. His extensive body of work includes dozens of books, among them "Dictionary for School and Office," "Dictionary of Modern Greek Language," and the very recent "Grammar of Modern Greek."
