
Vasia Tzanakari
Vasia Tzanakari was born in Serres in 1980. She studied English Language & Literature at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed postgraduate studies in Translation Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She is a member of the Hellenic Association for the Study of English (HASE). Her first book, a collection of short stories titled "Eleven Little Murders: Stories Inspired by Nick Cave Songs" (Metaichmio, 2008), was nominated for the debut author award by "Diavazo" magazine. This was followed by the novel "Johnny & Lulu" (Metaichmio, 2011) and the children's book "A Gift for Jealousy" (Metaichmio, 2013). Her latest book, "Mr. Hector's Chair," was published in 2014 by Metaichmio. She has contributed to collective works ("Greek Names" - Kedros, "Crisis" - Vakxikon, "Stories of Books" - Kastaniotis Publications) and works as a translator, having translated authors such as Ian Rankin, Gillian Flynn, Donald Ray Pollock, among others.
