
Didier Eribon
Didier Eribon was born in Reims in 1953. He studied philosophy in Reims and Paris, taught for many years at universities in the United States, and served as a professor of sociology at the University of Amiens in France. He also worked as a journalist and book critic and developed a friendship with Michel Foucault and Pierre Bourdieu, with whom he had a close collaboration. His first book was a biography of Michel Foucault (1989), which was translated into many languages, including Greek ("Michel Foucault: Philosopher, Dandy, and Troublemaker," trans. N. Stampakis, Lector, 2009). Other significant works include: "Réflexions sur la question gay" (1999), "Une morale du minoritaire" (2001), "Échapper à la psychanalyse" (2005), and "La société comme verdict" (2013). In 2008, he was awarded the Brudner Prize by Yale University for significant contributions in the field of LGBTQ studies.
